About Taranim-u-Salam
Taranim-u-Salam - Melodies of Peace - is a Cape Town-based Islamic nasheed group dedicated to expressing faith, remembrance and love for Islam through the art of vocal nasheed.
Rooted in the Muslim community of Cape Town, the group brings together young Muslim vocalists to perform spiritually uplifting nasheeds at Islamic gatherings, community programmes, masajid and special events.
The name Taranim-u-Salam, meaning "Melodies of Peace," reflects the character of the group - using beautiful voices and meaningful Islamic poetry to create moments of reflection, remembrance and spiritual connection.
Their performances combine the rich tradition of Islamic devotional singing with the distinctive Muslim heritage of Cape Town, while also drawing on Arabic and contemporary nasheed traditions.
Rather than treating nasheed simply as entertainment, Taranim-u-Salam's public presentation lends itself to a broader purpose: creating an atmosphere in which audiences can remember Allah, reflect on their faith and develop love for the Islamic tradition.
Their Story
Taranim-u-Salam represents a new generation of Islamic vocal talent emerging from Cape Town's Muslim community.
The group performs collectively as well as featuring individual vocalists, giving younger reciters and nasheed artists an opportunity to develop their voices and present Islamic devotional works to the wider community.
Their growing presence on social media has allowed performances that would previously have been limited to a local gathering or masjid to reach a much wider audience.

We envision Tarānim-u-Salām as more than just a nasheed group - we are a movement of harmony, heart, and healing, growing beyond our roots to reach every corner of South Africa. Through strategic relationships, collaborations, and authentic performances, we aim to bring nasheed into spaces where it's rarely heard - from art showcases and theaters to conferences and community events. Our message of peace should know no limits.
Our journey is not just about performance; it's about building real connections, both within our team and with the communities we serve. Through consistent team-building, monthly Layl programs, and acts of charity, we stay rooted in sincerity, brotherhood, and service - always remembering why we started.
Financial sustainability is within reach. We see this as a full-time calling, supported by merch, sponsorships, and national tours. We aim to turn passion into livelihood, while never losing sight of our purpose.
And most importantly, our core intention will never change: to praise Allah through our voices, to uplift souls, and to make giving, peace, and unity the culture. One day, we'll perform Umrah - even Hajj - as a group, with our own original nasheeds echoing through the sacred lands.
Through our performances and presence, we aim to inspire transformation, not just entertain. Our goal is to leave people better than we found them - moved, reflective, and connected to their Creator.
